TRAX : Lefort reaffirms the validity and enforcement of its intellectual property rights

Gosselies, May 13, 2026 – Lefort S.A. wishes to provide clarification regarding the proceedings on the merits in Case No. 24676/2023 before the Court of Milan between Lefort S.A. and C&G S.r.l. (Taurus), concluded at first instance with Judgment No. 3711/2026.

The proceedings concerned allegations of infringement of Lefort’s European Patent EP 3405333 (“EP ‘333”) by certain C&G Taurus machines.

In its decision, The Court confirmed the full validity of Lefort’s EP ‘333 patent by entirely dismissing C&G’s invalidity counterclaim. Lefort’s infringement claims were, for their part, dismissed. The judgment is subject to appeal.

As of today, C&G Taurus remains prohibited, where Lefort’s intellectual property rights are valid and enforceable, from manufacturing and selling the machines concerned.

Therefore, the press release issued by C&G on May 5, 2026 is entirely biased, since it is deliberately made in a way to let the customers believe that the later merits judgement overruled the preliminary injunction order.

Lefort also recalls that not only direct infringement, but also any attempt to circumvent or indirectly reproduce the protected technical solutions covered by its intellectual property rights, may constitute an infringement under applicable patent laws and may be subject to legal action.

Any breach of this order will therefore be prosecuted, and so it will be for customers buying the said machines.
